Ruby boat vessel ring
Vivid ruby set on a 18 carat gold bar which is then soldered (allowing gold to bleed down the sides), onto a band of Argentium silver. Finish is textured and brushed.
Unique shape that emerged from playing with random shaped off cuts on my bench! Firstly I was bending some sheet Argentium silver to make a complete ring from it but bent it into a U shape by accident but liked how it looked and fitted around my finger. I had a piece of gold left over from another project that caught my eye and I balanced it across the U to create a little boat shape! Then of course I had to adorn it with something sparkly and that’s how this design was born!
The ring photographed is an example — each ring is completely handmade, and so contains subtle natural variations making every piece unique.
